Although we are miles away, we have thought of your family often today.  May strength be with you all during this time, but may the love we share for Adam bring us peace.

I worked with Adam in Kabul and immediately we became friends. He always had something pleasant to say or a joke to tell. We were like a small family at CTC and because of that we all got close and seemed to strengthen one another and hold one up when we saw they were down. Adam was always one to give a cheerful word or action to remind you that it was all gonna be alright. I too share the grief within our thin blue line and know that God will heal ALL that troubles us. Although we can't be with you, his family, know that our hearts ache and our prayers are with you. May God grant you that peace beyond mortal understanding. Adam was a friend, father, son and many things to many people. But I will also call him an American hero that died while serving a greater cause. His sacrifice shall never be forgotten. As you grieve now, know that one day, through the sacrifice of another, Jesus Christ, we can all be reunited. Until that time, take comfort knowing that Adam touched so many folks and left a thumbprints on our lives forever. Rest in peace brother!

It was an honor to meet Adam in Afghanistan.  We lived in the same compound in Kabul for a year.   I did not work directly with Adam, but learned to like and respect him as a professional and a person.   From our conversations at the camp, I know he loved his family very much.  He was especially proud of his two children.  I mourn the loss of this fine young man.  My family and I will continue to pray for his children and family.

My heartfelt condolences to you. I know this does not bring Adman back to you. But please do take comfort in knowing that Adam was a great man, son, friend and father. The man you raised actually made a difference in this world. He mattered!

I supervised Adam for a while as he worked here in Afghanistan. Oddly this was not the first time we worked together. It was not until we talked that we realized that we actually worked the same funeral escorts in Atlanta. We actually rode side by side and did not recognize the other. Great "Cop" skills of observation there. It was not until we met again in Kabul that we realized we already worked together for a few years. 

I can tell you that Adam was a great friend and confidant. He made things better with his humor and sarcasm. You just could not get mad when he did silly things. You just shrug and say "It's just Carney". 

Thank you for giving him to us for the brief time that we did. He will be missed terribly.  God Bless You.

I worked with Adam in Kabul. Whether rolling on a convoy, or standing around the fire at night, he was a great young man to be with. Adam was always professional, and gave every assignment his best effort. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Even though I did not know him personally, you should know that he was making history during this conflict and was a true American to serve his country by mentoring and training the Afghan police. I had the honor to train and work with Adam in PAST and in Afghanistan. Always the family man and devoted father. Adam looked forward to being able to complete his mission and go home and find peace with his children. I cannot express how sorry I am. Adam will always have a place  with me as being one of those whom we are honored to meet and work with. Police work exacts a high price on us all. Adam is another casualty of the eternal war on keeping the thin blue line alive. May Adam find peace among the heavens and look down upon his children and family knowing that someday we will all meet again on the other side.

Adam teased me about reading my Kindle all the time, but it was all in good fun. He was a true professional and will be missed.
