A native of Bishop, GA, Mr. Bradberry was the son of Gladys Hayes Bradberry of High Shoals and the late William N. Bradberry Sr and was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Bradberry. He was a graduate of Oconee County High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia. Upon graduation he began his 26 year career as an Army officer and served his county in The Panama Canal Zone, Germany, Vietnam, Iran, and many US bases including service at the Pentagon in Washington DC. After retiring from the military, Bill earned his MBA and started his second career as a sales representative for American Hospital, International Paper and Dillard Paper. Retiring again at the age of 70, Bill spent time traveling and with his family.
Survivors in addition to his mother include daughter, Pam Layne (Mel) of Athens; sons, Bill Bradberry (Debbie) of Athens and Jeffrey Bradberry of Atlanta; brothers, Harry Bradberry and Jim Bradberry both of High Shoals, and grandchildren, Kaitlin Bradberry, Melinda Layne, and Taylor Layne.
Funeral services will be held 6PM Monday, January 28th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Hodges and Rev. Martha Aenchbacher officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6PM prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
