Victoria Lynn "Vicki" Smith Soutar

Born in Smyrna, Vicki was a daughter of the late Harold Carlyle Smith and Evelyn Marie Russell Smith. She earned a Master’s degree in education from the University of Georgia. She retired from the Oconee County School System where she taught science for over 30 years at Oconee County High School. She was twice named Teacher of the Year, coached the Ocean Bowl Team and led the team to multiple national finishes. Vicki was a world class scuba diver and went to the bottom of the ocean twice aboard the DSV Alvin Submersible. She was a member of Ashford Memorial Methodist Church in Watkinsville.

Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, Doug Soutar; sisters, Valerie Kemp, Vivian Mulkey (Monty) and Veronica Fincher (Robert); numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; father-in-law, Alister Soutar (Elaine); mother-in-law, Giovanna Soutar; and brother-in-law, Jamie Soutar (Carla).

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, at 1:00 p.m., at Ashford Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert W. Greene officiating.
