Thomas J. Arnold

A native of Max Meadows, Virginia, Mr. Arnold was the son of the late Martin Luther Arnold and Iva Manual Arnold and was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Bruce Arnold. He was a member of the North Georgia Athens-Elberton District of The United Methodist Church and retired from the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Department.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carolyn Dillard Arnold of Athens; son, Thomas Bruce Arnold and wife, Tammy of Winterville; daughter, Saundra Arnold-Smith of Athens; sister, Eloise Pruitt of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Lara Christine Arnold-Smith, James Hunter Arnold, and Heather Lynn Casper, and great-granddaughter, Diamond Tylyn Sudberry.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, May 21st at Chapelwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Moeller and Dr. Gary Whetstone officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, May 20th at Bernstein Funeral Home.
