Susan Jennifer "Jenny" Luthi

Susan Jennifer “Jenny” Luthi, beloved wife and mother, passed away on March 2, 2023. She was born August 22, 1949 in Demorest, GA to the late John and Vera Bowling. She received her degree from North Georgia College, and was a member of Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities. Through the years she enjoyed involvement with the Athens YWCO Auxiliary, Junior League, Northeast Georgia Mental Health Dept., playing bridge with friends and many church and school projects.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband David Pinson Luthi. She is survived by her children Mark (Alyssa) of Rome, GA; Kelley (Aaron) Claas of Watkinsville, GA; and Michael (Carrie) of Bogart, GA; six grandchildren, McCrae and Ashley Claas, Thomas and Elizabeth Luthi and Griffin and Sabrina Luthi.; sisters Linda Church of Demorest, GA and Mary (Carter) Warwick of Athens, GA; brothers-in-law Craig (Mary) Luthi of Lilburn, GA; Jeff (Sheila) Luthi of Comer, GA; Phillip (Dana) Luthi of Winston-Salem, NC; and a large extended family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the Catholic Center at the University of Georgia on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. Brian McNavish officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Center Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Mary’s Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Rd., Watkinsville, GA 30677, that compassionately cared for Jenny.
