Sharon was born on September 26, 1954, in Battle Creek, MI. She was the daughter of the late Harold Willis Flanders, Jr., the late Patricia Ann (Boyd) King and the late Morris Douglas King.
Sharon grew up in Athens, MI, where she graduated from Athens High School. On August 23, 1971, Sharon married Billy Kenneth Brace in Athens, Michigan. Together, they had 3 children, Tina (Jarrod) Raimann of Belmond, IA, Michelle (Benton) Cofer of Simpsonville, SC, and William Brace of Watkinsville, GA.
Sharon and Bill were two peas in a pod. Where you found one, you found the other. Sharon was very “hands on” and was always up for a “do it yourself” project. Vacationing was always something Sharon loved to do. Her travels took her to Cancun, Hawaii, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Black Hills, SD as well as many other places. If there was a beach, you would find Sharon there. Sharon loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and going to their various sporting events and activities. Sharon always put others in front of herself. One of her favorite things to do was helping others, whether it was going to multiple different stores searching for what they needed or even making it herself. Either way you could be sure she would get them a deal on it.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Teri (Flanders) Anderson. She is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Tina and Michelle; a son, William; two brothers, Rick (Trish) Flanders of Mesa, AZ and David (Bev) Flanders of East LeRoy, MI; two sisters, Lynda (Gene) Anderson of Battle Creek, MI and Sandi (Bill) Wise of Bellevue, MI; six grandchildren, Katie Ketchum of Ankeny, IA, Kelsie Ketchum, Karter Ketchum and Kanon Ketchum all of Belmond, IA, Olivia Cofer and Paige Cofer both of Simpsonville, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
