Mrs. McAdams is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Charles Spurgeon McAdams; a son, Charles Parker McAdams; a brother, Jack Parker; and sister, Hazel Tooke She is survived by her sons Spurgeon Alan McAdams & wife Ellen Dykes of Falls Church, VA, Harold (Hal) Cooper McAdams & wife Barbara of Athens, GA, and Thomas David McAdams & wife Annette of Bishop, GA; daughter Barbara (Bobbie) Joy McAdams of Augusta, GA; grandsons, Scott McAdams of Frisco, TX and Shane McAdams of Athens, GA; granddaughter Megan Bennett and husband Zack and great grandson Parker of Athens, GA; brother Charles Buddy Parker of Gainesville, FL; and sister-in-law Frances Jacks of Huntsville, Al. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. McAdams retired from Fosters Jewelers where she worked for many years. She stayed busy caring for her family and loved cooking, traveling, playing bridge, being with her friends, and participating in her church. She was a long time loyal member of the Athens First United Methodist Church. Mrs. McAdams was a loving mother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. McAdams will be held on Tuesday August 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Athens First United Methodist Church with the Reverends Chuck Hodges and Martha Aenchbacher officiating. The family will receive friends at Bernstein’s Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2011. A private burial will take place at East View Cemetery in Rome, GA.
