Born in Monroe, GA, Mrs. Hunt lived in Athens for 60 years with her late husband, Dock L Hunt. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Connie Edwards Jones and was also preceded in death by her son, W.H. “Skip” Hunt, Ph.D.
For many years she was the secretary for the city of Athens Inspection Department. Upon her retirement, she founded and published The Hunt Letter, a pre-internet source of sales leads for construction companies. Mrs. Hunt enjoyed singing in the choir at Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church and being a member and past officer of both the Garden Club and the Pilot Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy C. Walker, Ph.D. of Marietta and daughter-in-law, Anne L. Hunt of Valrico, FL; sisters, Lucile Malcom of Monroe, GA and Kathy Remaley of Tuscaloosa, AL; along with 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, September 2nd in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with her grandson, Rev. John M. Walker III officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3PM prior to the service at Bernstein.
