A native of Hampton, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Ralph E and Lula A. Summers Hammitt and was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Reeves. Mrs. Reeves volunteered at the Whitehead Elementary School Library and the Oconee Heights Baptist Church Library and Nursery, where she was a long time member.
Survivors include daughters Susan Deaton and husband Tim of Athens and Laura Scott and husband Tommy of Athens; sister Joyce Irene Hammitt Wilson of Roswell and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2pm Tuesday, Aug 27th at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Bailey and Rev. Crist Camden officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park
The family will receive friends at Bernstein from 6-8 pm Monday, August 26, 2013.
