Peggy, age 73, died after a lengthy illness on May 14, 2016 at her home in Watkinsville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by Michael, her husband of 47 years; her sister, Betty Garner of Roanoke, Virginia; her aunt, Virginia Whittaker, and several cousins.
She received her B.S. degree from Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia and her M.F.A. in ceramics at UGA. After 34 years as an art teacher at Clarke Middle School, she continued her second career as a potter and dedicated volunteer teacher at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation in Watkinsville.
Loved by friends, associates and students alike, she will be sorely missed.
