She was the daughter of the late Arthur George and Phyllis Greene Coleman. Margaret, better known as Margie, to her friends and family, retired from the University of Georgia Testing and Counseling Center. She was a lady of strong Christian faith and loved listening to Charles Stanley. Margaret loved being outdoors tending to her rose bushes, and she was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Coleman.
Survivors include her children, Eva Towns Pryor (Joe), James Douglas Towns (Missy), Charles Mark Towns and Tami Towns Harsh (Scott); grandchildren, Zack Mabry, Justin Pryor, Leah Pryor Hill (Zack), A.J. Rice, Bree Randall (Dustin), and Bryse Borders (Mikey); great-grandchildren, Conner Rice, Emerson Hill, Cylor Randall, Pierce Randall, Candler Randall, Huxton Randall, Cian Towns and Thalia Borders.
A memorial service for Margaret will be held Friday, December 15, 2023, starting with a visitation at 10:00 AM and a memorial service following at 11:00 AM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens.
Margaret will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Hwy., Athens.
