A native of Madison County, Mr. Roberts was a son of the late Frank Roberts and Myrtie Leard Roberts. He retired as a groundskeeper for the University of Georgia and was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Athens.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Bruce Roberts.
Survivors include children, Larry W. Roberts (Cindy) and Debbie Meeler (Larry), all of Watkinsville; brother, Alfred Roberts (Frances) of Athens; sisters, Juanita Bruce of Winterville and Ida Coker (David) of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Jennifer Brugh, Melissa Krumm, Travis Meeler and Ryan Meeler; 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 27 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
