Louise Rhodes Mathis

A native of Athens, Mrs. Mathis was a daughter of the late William Horace Rhodes and Sydney Palmer Rhodes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JC Mathis of Athens; son, David Mathis of Athens; sister, Elizabeth Ward of Colbert; brothers, Bill Rhodes of Athens and James Rhodes of South Carolina.

Survivors include sister, Rachael Adams of Colbert; granddaughter, Abby Moore of Lebanon, TN; great-grandchildren, Shawn, Caleb and Hailey Moore of Lebanon, TN; nieces and nephews, Dianne Fields, Patsy Redd, Linda Rhodes, Terry Adams, Stephen Adams, Jack Rhodes and Rusty Rhodes; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 23 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home. A light brunch will be provided.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park.
