Lawrence is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carrie Harp; his daughter Lachandra Baker of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his son Reco Antowne Curry of Athens, Georgia; his son Gasimon Carlos Curry (Maria) of Athens, Georgia; his daughter Lawrencia Porter of Florida; and his daughter Mionda Ball (Kenneth) of Winterville, Georgia; his mother Laura "Dot" Edwards of Athens, Georgia; his brother Gerald Porter of Athens, Georgia, his brother Johnny Edwards of Athens, Georgia, his sister Shirley Brown of Athens, Georgia and his sister Celestine Brown of Greensboro, Georgia.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his son Latori Porter; his father Lawrence Porter, Jr.; his brother Charles Edwards.
Mr. Porter leaves 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
A gathering of family and friends for Lawrence will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA.
The funeral service will be Friday, February 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA.
Burial will follow in Athens Memory Gardens.
