A native of Toccoa, GA, Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late Earl and Martha Camp and was preceded in death by son, Alan Eugene Payne; grandson, Alan Payne; brothers, Alfred, Johnny, Marvin and Lawrence Camp; and sisters, Emily Stuckey and Rosa Farah.
Survivors include sons, Rick Payne (Nancy) of Merritt Island, FL and Tim Payne of Athens; brothers, Wallace Camp of Maine and Ben Camp (Jo) of Atlanta; sister, Betty Camp of Atlanta; and grandchildren, Mark Kent of Florida and Melinda Harrington of Cumming.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 3 from 4-6 p.m. at Bernstein's.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Revs. Rob Bailey and Crist Camden officiating.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Oconee Heights Baptist Church, 4180 Jefferson Road, Athens, GA 30607.
