A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Brewer retired from Westinghouse/ABB after 33 years as HR Manager. He also served as a Clarke County Court Bailiff.
Mr. Brewer was preceded in death by parents, Vester and Essie Brewer; the mother of his children, Kathleen Brewer; daughter, Carol Kennedy; spouse, Evelyn Brewer; and siblings, twin sister, Nell Thomas, Runa Kinman, Nita Leggett and James “Bubba” Brewer.
Survivors include daughters, Anne Brewer of Lexington and Brenda Adams of Zebulon; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Keith Burgess of Arnoldsville; eight grandchildren, Kristy Burgess, Brian Burgess, John Kennedy (Mary Jo), Natalie James (Ryan), Bev Gallagher, Ben Wheeler, Wesley Adams (Amy) and Angie Stinchcomb (T.J.); 15 great-grandchildren, Hailey Joe Burgess, Braxton Burgess, Brantley Burgess, Zach Kennedy, Blake Kennedy, Frankie James, Wilson James, Caroline James, Ashley Tate, Elijah Tate, Thomas Wheeler, Brooke Adams, Allie Grace Adams, Payton Stinchcomb and Chandler Stinchcomb.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24 from 10-11 a.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Bogart Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith Burgess, Brian Burgess, Ben Wheeler, John Kennedy, Wesley Adams and Jerry Thomas.
