Gregg was born in Rochester, New York, the son of the late Donald and Jane Wagner.
Gregg graduated from East High School in Rochester and earned his bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State College. Gregg spent his younger years in Rochester, where he taught social studies at Eastridge High School. After relocating to Georgia, he worked in the Law Library at Emory University.
Gregg was an accomplished pianist and loved classical music. He was a home handyman, and he loved gardening and creating landscape designs. He also enjoyed architectural photography.
In addition to his parents, Gregg was preceded in death by his sister, Johanna Wagner-Fitz.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Wagner, and his children, Chris and Erika.
A memorial service for Gregg will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606.
