Born June 20, 1941 he was the son of the late James and Mittie White.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Bee Motley.
He was the former pastor of Liberty Temple Baptist Church located in St. Louis for over thirty years. A very spiritual man who birthed countless people into the Kingdom of God. He served his Savior all his life spreading the good news of the gospel. He traveled the country and did missionary work in over 40 countries preaching truth and salvation to those who were lost and needy. He recorded many musical albums and preached thousands of sermons that are still in circulation today. He was the happiest standing in the pulpit preaching the gospel. He loved being outdoors and was an avid hunter. Gordon will be greatly missed by all that loved him. He was a very charismatic and unforgettable man who loved his family deeply. Rest in peace Gordon with your Savior.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 yrs, Shirley White of Watkinsville; daughters Rhonda White Paul (Rev. David Paul) of CT and Regina White Imboden of Chesterfield, MO; son Gordon (Gordy) T. White, II of St. Louis, MO; step daughter, Misty Childs Wallace (Jim), sister, Brenda White Starr (Allen) of Mena, AK; brothers, Rev. Harlo White of Arlington, TX, Kenny Milligan of Fort Worth, TX, Gary Milligan of DeQueen, AR and Tim White (Connie) of Cove, AR; grandchildren, Justin Paul (Asher), Tyler Paul, Morgan and Mason Imboden, Gordon (G.T.) White, III, Vadyn White, Indigo Childs and Maddox Wallace; great grandchildren, Emmie and Sully Paul.
A celebration of his life will be Saturday, September 8, 2018 in the Gardenside Room at the State Botanical Garden at the University of Georgia from 1 until 3 p.m.
There will be signs at the Botanical Gardens to direct people for parking and the service.
