A lifelong resident of Athens, GA, Mr. Gunter was the son of the late Brewer Jerome Gunter and Emma Elizabeth Marlow Gunter and was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Gunter. He was a graduate of Athens High School and worked for Westinghouse and ABB for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Linda Gunter, a daughter, Sharon Denise Daleski of Duluth, GA, a son-in-law, Richard Daleski, and 2 grandchildren, Marcus and Kenneth Scogin.
Funeral services will be held 2PM Monday, February 20th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev Luther Fouche officiating. Interment will follow at Tuckston United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Sunday, February 19th at Bernstein.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd, Ste 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
