George Walker Dean III

He was born in Athens, GA on June 27, 1951 to Elizabeth B. Dean and the late George Walker Dean Jr. George graduated from Athens High School, attended the University of Georgia, and served in the Georgia National Guard. He owned and operated George’s Place and later started Dean Clean Inc. He was always the life of the party, never meeting a stranger. He loved his family and was always great with his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces.

In addition to his mother, George is survived by his sister, Valerie DeVore and husband, Ted; brother, Wayne Dean and wife, Fran; niece, Monica Elrond and husband, Travis; nephews, Wayne Dean Jr and wife, Kelli and Travis Dean, and great- nieces, McKenzie and Sydney Elrod and Avery and Kendall Dean.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, October 31st in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorials be made to Eagle Ranch Children’s Home, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30606-3871.
