Frances Grubbs

Bunky was born April 7, 1929, a date she shared with her husband, in Atlanta. She was the daughter of the late, Allen Warren Clapp and Frances Brown Clapp.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Clapp Faulkner.

Bunky attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a degree in Horticulture. It was there that she met the love of her life, Kenneth Grubbs and spent 67 happy years together.

Kenneth and Bunky settled in Monroe, GA where he began his dental practice. Bunky was always active and involved in her community, belonging to the Garden Club, an elder at First Presbyterian Church and a member of many bridge groups, playing almost until the end of her life. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit, her beaming smile and her compassionate spirit. Her home was always open to family and friends from every walk of life.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dr. Kenneth Grubbs, her children; Victor Franklin Grubbs, Virginia Grubbs Heery (Rusty) and Allen Warren Clapp Grubbs, grandsons; Franklin Moss Heery (Amber), James Thomas Heery III, Kenneth Benjamin Heery, great granddaughters; Millie Moss and Margaret Edward Heery, and her two sisters; Jane Clapp Anderson (Eade) and Mary Clapp Carden (Robert).

The family would like to thank Bunky’s extraordinary caregivers, Donna Harwell, Felicia Sayer and Abby Hospice and her nurse, Julie Bennett.

Bunky’s memorial service is Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Monroe, GA. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.

Family will receive friends from 10 am until time of service on Thursday at the church.
