Elizabeth was born on April 23, 1926, in Winston-Salem, NC to Benjamin and Millie Smith Doggans. Until her retirement many years ago, Elizabeth was a cosmetologist and member of the California State Board of Cosmetology. After she met and married Rev. Dr. Kenn Paradise in 1991, she worked with him as a minister’s wife in their church. She loved to travel and spend time with people. Staying connected with family and long-time friends was a particular joy for her. Mrs. Paradise was a member of Gratis Church in Monroe, Georgia and rededicated her life to the Lord through Baptism at the young age of 92.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Millie Smith Doggans; husbands, Louis Benjamin Cunningham and Rev. Dr. Kenn Raymond Paradise; brother, William Alfred Doggans (Anne Doggans); her son, Benjamin Wayne Cunningham; her daughter, Veronica A. Cunningham Black (John Black, Sr.) and grandson, Eudell Cunningham, Jr.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Eudell Lee Cunningham, Sr. (Vina) of California, daughter-in-law, Janie Davis; her grandchildren: Audra Nishita Trembath, Omar Cunningham, Darius White, Kywon Thompson, John Black, Jr., Aaron Cunningham (Kelly) and Rachel Cunningham; five great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; dear family, Stephanie Cunningham, Sheila Cunningham; and a host of beloved family and friends. Over the past two decades, Elizabeth was blessed to be cared for in Georgia by the Paradise family (Joe, Kerri, Sydney, Nikki, Lexi and Mackenzie) and their extended family in California and Oklahoma, who she absolutely adored. We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Paradise family and especially Elizabeth's angel on earth, Kerri Paradise.
