Elaine M. Gaudin, 84, on Friday, November 4, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior in His glorious kingdom. She was the much-loved wife of James Gaudin, mother to Maureen Gaudin and Timothy Gaudin, grandmother to Thomas Gaudin and Ellie Gaudin. She was a nurse-administrator for 18 years with Georgia DHR, at Georgia Retardation Center, Athens and at Southwestern State Hospital, Thomasville, Georgia. For ten years she served as a volunteer at the Loran Smith Cancer Support Center in Athens.
Elaine was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Athens, where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. She served on “Cursillo” retreat leadership teams for ten years, taught in the parish RCIA program, instructing and sponsoring new converts. She was much-loved and blessed by many friends at St. Joseph’s Church and in the Athens Community.
She is predeceased by her brother, Raymond Kaminski; and sister, Betty Grimm. In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her sister, Lorrie Trevino; her daughter and son, Maureen and Timothy Gaudin; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Gaudin; brother-in-law, Ron Grimm; and by nieces and nephews, Christian and “Buff” Trevino, Theresa and Michael Kaminski, Heather, Ronnie, and Daniel Grimm.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
