Dwayne Alan "Rusty" Moreland

A native of Detroit, MI, Rusty was a son of the late Earl Moreland and Nellie Wright Moreland.

In addition to his parents, Rusty was preceded in death by a son, Heath Moreland; a brother, Mickey Moreland; and his wife, Sandra Keyser Moreland.

A major part of his career was spent working with Sandra in their business, City Compressor Rebuilders. The glue that held their relationship together was their strong faith and trust in God: He guided their decisions and their daily life. Rusty and Sandra also shared many interests, including boating and fishing. Rusty was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and had his captain’s license. He also enjoyed hunting. Rusty attended Riverside Baptist Church in Colbert and was a member of the Community Church: Mount Pleasant in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina.

Rusty is survived by son, Shawn Andrew Moreland, his wife, Dana; grandchildren, Casey, Kelvin, Colin, Alayna, Mackenzie, Robyn, Heather and Savannah; great-granddaughter, Ariel; great-grandson, Lincoln; brother, Rick Moreland, his wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Phyllis; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Rest in Peace, Rusty, we know you are in a far better place!

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 10, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
