Dorothy Dove Sanders

Dorothy (Dot) Dove Sanders, 82, of Athens died on January 16, 2015. Born on November 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Florence Dove and grew up in Vanna, GA. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Arnold Dove. She was a skilled floral designer and worked for Flowers, Inc. and Athens Florist for a number of years.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Melvin (Gene) Sanders; son, Keith Sanders (Susan); sister Rebecca Todd (Bill); step-grandchildren, Lori White (Nick) and Chip Woods (Beth); two great granddaughters, Annie and Claire White; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Gwen Powers and Carolyn Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on January 18, 2015 at Bernstein Funeral Home chapel in Athens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Oconee Hill Cemetery in Athens.
