Born January 16, 1944, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles William and Lillian Elizabeth Clink, her brothers William "Bill" Maddox and David Clink, and most recently, within a month, her late husband of 49 years, Edwin Linton "Lin" Dixon Jr. of Louisville, GA. After moving to Georgia for work, Diane met her husband whom she married in 1974.
Diane attended The University of Georgia and earned a degree in Social Work. She then went on to work with CASA and other non-profit agencies in which she devoted herself to empowering women experiencing domestic violence.
Diane was also a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays. She had quite the collection of cookbooks and loved creating her own takes on popular recipes.
Diane was a woman of many interests including crafting, jewelry, decorating, music, and was an avid reader. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Dawn (Andy) Doty-Marikis, and twins, Sheilah (Daniel) Dixon Huckabee, and Shannon (Mark) Dixon Baine, all of Athens, GA.
