Debra Ann Nix

Debra was born in East Point, GA on November 21, 1954 to the late Otis and Margie Bearden Pugh and was raised in Jefferson, GA. She graduated from Jefferson High School and went on to receive her nursing degree from Athens Technical College. She worked as a nurse in obstetrics and as a travel nurse, before retiring. Debra loved shopping, going out to eat with her family, spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing, water skiing and had a huge tennis shoe collection. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Debra is survived by her daughters, Christy Gordon and her husband, Kevin of Athens; and Tabatha Bailey and her husband, Jimmy of Hull; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, in Bernstein Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service in the funeral home chapel with Reverend John Walker officiating.

Burial will follow in Attica Baptist Church Cemetery.
