Charles Michael "Mike" Lester

He was born October 27, 1937 in Athens, he was the son of the late Rufus Rubbin Lester and Mary Echo Hollis Lester.

Mike was a 1956 graduate of Athens High School and was a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church. Mike retired from Westinghouse, having worked there for over thirty years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Mike enjoyed puzzles, reading western novels and John Wayne movies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, his wife, Faye Smith Lester and sister, Wanza Skelton.

Survivors include his children, Jeff Lester (Marilyn), Kathy Lester, Jennifer Bohanan (Brent), Michelle Huff (Tony); sister, Mary Frances “Sis” Morgan; brother-in-law, Ken Skelton; grandsons, Jared Lester, Jacob (Kristian) Bohanan, Joseph Bohanan, Slade Huff and Sloan Huff (Rachel); great-granddaughter, Chloe Cain.

A gathering of family and friends for Mike will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens, Georgia 30606, followed by a celebration of Mike's life at 1:00 PM in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel.
