Betty Lou (Dempsey) Wright went home to be with her heavenly Father on July 4, 2016 to greet her were many of her loved ones including, infant daughter, Brandy Julane Dunlap; mother and father, Mary Lou and Charles Quillian (Buster) Dempsey; brother, Charles Jerry Dempsey; brothers-in-law, Herbert Nichols and Raymond McDaniel.
Betty Lou is survived by her beloved son, James L. “Jamie” Dunlap, Jr., wife Jill, sons Brock and Bracken and her two granddogs; his father, James L. Dunlap, wife Wendy, son, Brad and his family; step-daughter, Bonnie Wright Morning, husband Tom, her father, James R. Wright (husband) and grandchildren, Zachary and Marlee Morning; her loving sisters, Mary Jane (Dempsey) Nichols and Judy Garlinda (Dempsey) McDaniel; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; cousins and more special friends and classmates than can be counted.
After graduation from Roswell High School in 1965, Betty Lou found her calling in education, loving and helping shape young students into being the “best that they could be in life.” She graduated from the Women's College of Georgia, acquired a Master’s Degree in Counseling and retired from education after 35 years of teaching.
Betty Lou left this world still trying to make a difference by teaching and witnessing to her neighbors' grandchildren and friends. We all will miss Betty Lou's charming wit, contagious smile and loving-kind heart. Heaven must have needed a warm, caring educator, and we have no doubt this happy, witty soul left this world SINGING HER WAY IN! God Bless You, our dear Betty Lou and may you rest in His love until we all meet again. We miss you so!
