Betty Sanders Brown

A native of Madison County, Ms. Brown was the daughter of the late Arnold N. and Lizzie S. Sanders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Byron H. Brown and her husband of 46 years, J. Holman Brown.

Betty was a retiree of Bank of America, Athens, GA. She was an amazing cook, loved gardening and enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She will be remembered as the ultimate caregiver by always placing everyone's needs above her own. She was a long time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Meliss Brown; two grandchildren, Morgan Archer (Cody) and Joshua Power; two great-grandchildren, Hayden and Meredith Archer.

Graveside services will be Thursday, December 1, at 2:00 p.m., at Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens, GA, with Reverend Morris Sapp officiating.

Ms. Brown was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, so in lieu of flowers, her family would like contributions made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her doctors, Dr. Eric Robach, Dr. Nicholas Fox and Dr. Matthew Crim for their care.
