Betty Jo Bell Adams

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2PM from the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, GA with Pastor Jesse W. Hughes officiating. Interment will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home from 12PM to 2PM prior to the service.

Mrs. Adams was born January 2, 1935 to the late Calvin O. Bell and Lizzie Mae Hardigree Bell. Betty was Christian by faith. She worked at Delta Air Lines as a refunds clerk, before retiring in 1994.

Betty loved to travel around the world with friends and family. She loved plants and flowers, she could tell you the name of every plant in her garden. She loved to sew, she made and mended lots of clothes for her family. Some of her favorite things were listening to country music, visiting her mountain home, gardening, shopping, basking in the sun, rocking babies, and playing with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her beloved husband of sixty-six years William Gene Adams, Sr., daughter Betty Jean Adams Stanley, son Bill Adams (wife Irma), and daughter Melinda Adams Brown (husband David). Grandchildren; Danuel Stanley Peacher (husband Tommy), Matthew Adams (wife Alexandria), Taylor Adams, Joanna Brown (husband Zach), Samuel Brown, and Audrey Brown. Great grandchildren; Tanner, Amber, Liam, and Madison.
