Emilie (Krupke) Fernstaedt, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023, in Athens,
GA. He was 88 years old.
As a young man, Arnie worked on his brother’s farm, but it was his job as a stock boy in a grocery store that led him to build a successful career as a grocer. Arnie will forever be remembered for his honesty, patience, sense of humor, and love for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife Shirley (Starr) Fernstaedt (1935-1998), and wife Lois (Kiefer) Fernstaedt (1933-2023).
He is survived by his children: son Terry Fernstaedt, daughter Rhonda (Jim) Harrison,
daughter Cynthia Martinez, step-son Dan (Tammy) Kiefer, step-son Dave (Courtney)
Kiefer and step-daughter Diane (Kevin) Fuchs. Arden leaves behind 12 grandchildren,
17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren to carry on his legacy.
Donations can be made in memoriam to the American Diabetes Association or Affinis
Hospice (Community Health Foundation).
