Rebecca Marie Clay Irvin

Rebecca Marie Clay Irvin, age 73 of Athens, passed away March 5, 2018. She was born March 17, 1944 in Limestone County to Edgar Earl Clay and Dossie Long Clay. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

Mrs. Irvin is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin H. Irvin, her parents, and one granddaughter, Jayme Kathryn Laughmiller.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie Irvin (Jay) Laughmiller, two sons, Marty (Diane) Irvin and John Irvin, two grandchildren, Ashley Irvin (Trey) Kennemer, Tyler (Sabrina) Irvin, one brother, Mickey (Brenda) Clay, one sister, Joyce (Jerald) Wisdom, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, one aunt, 6 step children, 5 step grandchildren, and 5 step great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 4 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Joel Carwile and Mike Kelley officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m.
