Mr. Williams was born to Elden “Bill” and Estelene Hagood Williams on February 21, 1952.
Survivors include his wife Judy Williams; son Rodney Williams; daughter Melissa Shackelford (Patrick); two sisters Tracy Gilliam and Vickie Sumrall (James); grandchildren Emily Shackelford, Joshua Shackelford, and Jacob Shackelford; and caregiver Teresa Hicks.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Betty Aeschilman.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 1pm in Thach-Mann Cemetery in Athens. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Hospice of North Alabama or Truth Baptist Church in Athens.
Ray spent many years as a truck driver. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and his church family.
