Peggy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren more than anything else. Her heart was filled with kindness, sincerity, and love for others, making her one of the most loving and unselfish individuals ever to walk this earth. Her love for her family was always known to everyone who knew her. She never failed to care for others in need and to give back in any way she could. Anyone who needed her help or support would continuously deliver without hesitation.
Peggy graduated from East Limestone High School, continued her education at Calhoun Community College, and pursued her educational advancements throughout her career to increase her knowledge in the medical field where needed.
Peggy loved the beautiful flowers in her garden, the sunshine on her face while sitting on her front porch with her husband, and the timeless times she spent with her family and friends. The love she could share with others was her passion, and she devotedly gave to St. Jude’s Hospital and Autism Speaks.
Our beautiful mother/wife is survived by her husband, Wayne; children Gerald, his wife Fawn, daughter-in-law and Melissa; her husband, Michael, son-in-law; and her two Beautiful and Loving Grandchildren, Michael and Sophia. 2 Step grandchildren, Michael Whitworth and Dawn Ridgeway, 6 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great grandchild. She has numerous nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.
Michael and Sophia were the very light in her eyes! She loved her grandchildren more than anything, and they were the spark of light in her life! Peggy became known as “Darling” after Melissa had her first child, Michael. She would always call her grandson “Darling” and in return, he called her “Darling.” From that moment on, Grandma became known as “Darling!” until her Grandson finally told her his words, “I love you, Darling, the day before her passing!”
Peggy was not just a wife, mother and grandmother, she was a friend to all who met her. The love and kindness in her heart were unmeasurable. All that knew her knew that she would always go to great lengths to ensure others were cared for before her own needs. She was a true Angel and touched the hearts of all who knew her!
Through her last breaths of life, Mom expressed how much she loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. Through the grace of God’s love, the family got to express their love to her, and she was with them until her last breath at her bedside. We are at peace knowing Mom is in Heaven after all her suffering. We know we will be with her again when we cross heaven's gates. At Peggy’s wishes, she will be cremated, and the family will have a Celebration of Life Ceremony at a future date.
