Paul Francis Kime, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born on November 25, 1937, in Defiance, Ohio, Paul was the fourth of 18 children born to Lucille and Irvine Kime.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army, exemplifying dedication and service.
In 1972, Paul moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to take a purchasing position with Western Forge, a company renowned for manufacturing tools for the iconic Craftsman brand. His career and hard work reflected his values of perseverance and excellence.
Paul was a passionate sports fan, with Colorado teams holding a special place in his heart. However, his lifelong loyalty belonged to Ohio State Buckeye football, which he followed with great enthusiasm. He also enjoyed yard work, tinkering in his beloved “barn,” and cooking for family and friends—activities that brought him joy and showcased his generous spirit.
Paul is survived by 10 of his brothers and sisters. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Matthew Kime, and Mathew's fiancée, Kim, of O'Fallon, Missouri; his daughter, Jenny Acosta, and her sons, Jordan and Dillon, of Athens, Alabama; and his daughter, Julie Johansen, and her husband, Randy Johansen, of Pine, Colorado. Through Julie’s marriage, Paul warmly welcomed Randy and children, Derek and his wife, Laura, and Brittany and her husband, Aaron, into his extended family.
Paul’s legacy also lives on through his four great-grandchildren, with another on the way.
A celebration of life will be planned for next year in Defiance, OH, where family and friends will gather to honor Paul’s memory.
Paul’s warmth, kindness, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
