Mr. Malone proudly served his country, and was a veteran of Vietnam. He was an electrician, and assisted with computer systems for RCA during the Apollo 11 mission that took the first man to the moon; during the shuttle launch, he was in one of the buildings below the launchpad!
He was also retired from the Kohler Company after many years. Among his favorite things to do: he was always gardening and tending to his tomato plants; he enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and John Wayne movies; read Louis L’Amour books and short stories; watch scary movies and ghost stories on television; and listen to Elvis. He himself was also an avid singer, and could whistle anything.
He loved animals, especially dogs and cats, and the hills of western Limestone County. He loved his granddaughters just as if they were his own kids. He was a member of Glass Molders Pottery Plastics & Allied Workers Union.
Mr. Malone always worked hard, and always made sure his family was provided for.
He is survived by his daughters, Leslee Herrington (Josh), and Alleson Malone; step-daughters, Chandra Holland (John), and Kristie Dietzman (Garry); step-son, James Beck (Heather); brother, Laborn Malone; sister, Pauline Martin; granddaughters, Amber Malone, Dulcie Atkinson (Josh), Lauren Holland, Gracie Holland, and Nicole, Alyssa, and Ryan Dietzman; and great-grandson, Elijah Malone.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Laborn Cleveland and Obell Siniard Malone; brother, Morris Dale; and sister, Orena Malone.
