Mr. Bentley was born July 27, 1952 in Limestone County to R.Q. Bentley and Jean Bean Bentley. His parents preceded him in death, as well as one brother, Gary Bentley.
After spending four years in college to become a Journeyman Wireman, he was a member of the Sheffield Local #558 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He loved to fish, hunt, and loved Alabama football.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Martha Lee Bentley; two sons, Steven Lee Bentley and Jerry Curtis Bentley (Leigh Ann); one brother, Terry Glenn Bentley; five grandchildren: Stephanie Bentley Fleming (John), Brandi Bentley Powers (Ethan), Halee Bentley, Macee Bentley and Dixee Leigh Bentley; two great grandchildren, John Brayden Fleming and Stetson Lee Powers.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 8, at 3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Brother Sonny Kirk and Brother Cecil Norman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. Burial will follow at Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Bentley, John Michael Fleming, Stanley Campbell, Ethan Powers, and Cory Wise. Honorary pallbearers will be Circuit Court Judge Chadwick Wise and Dan Totten.
