James Quinton Sims

Mr. Sims was born on February 27, 1961, to Millard and Reba Sims and was raised in Limestone County. He loved to work with, and on, his collection of tractors. Anytime a storm came through, he was always the first to volunteer to clear trees and debris from the roads. He had more friends than could be counted, and was always willing to help each and every one of them.

He has worked at L&S when he was younger, and many years at International Diesel.

Visitation will be on Friday September 8th at McConnell Funeral Home from 1-3 pm. A chapel service will immediately follow, officiated by Bro. Shane Reyer. Burial will be at Sandlin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Sims, Nicholas Sims, Gabe Smith, Shaun Sims, Jamie Wales, Wray Holt and Mark Howell. Daniel Motter will be an honorary pallbearer.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathy Sims; sons, Jonathan Sims and Brian Sims (Ashley); brothers: Hubert Sims (Janice), Michael Sims (Shannon), Randy Sims (Carol) and Paul Sims; sisters, Kay Motter (Anthony) and Carolyn Smith (Ken); grandchildren: Elly, Austin and Zoey Sims; and several nieces, nephews and their children.

Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Judy Fay Sims.
