Horace Dayton James

Visitation will be Thursday July 25, 2019 from 10-11 A.M. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mr. James passed away Tuesday July 23, 2019 at Athens Limestone Hospital.

He was born October 6, 1935 in Limestone County, AL, to Virgil James and Etha Amelia Kennemer James.

Mr. James is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Gail Graviet, one niece Terrie Bennett, one great nephew James Vann Teeples, one step-daughter Krystal Marsh, two step grandchildren Maria Delgado, and Kyle Marsh.

He was a member of North Athens Church of Christ.

Mr. James is survived by his wife Jewel James of Athens, AL, one son Ted James of Athens, AL, one daughter Amelia James of Athens, AL, three step children Keith Marsh and wife Sherri of Athens, AL, Kim Marsh of Athens, AL, Kelly Delacruz and husband Ruben of Madison, AL, six step grandchildren April Marsh, Jimmy Marsh, Chelsea Delacruz, Zach Delacruz, Cheyenne Coleman and husband Brad, Ruben Delgado, two great grandchildren Kyle Blaydes, Emily Coleman, two sisters Linda Schieber and husband Alan of Lakeville, Indiana, and Gwen Lamb and husband Alvin of Athens, AL.

Pallbearers will be Danny Graviet, Tony Graviet, Matt Teeples, Barrett Teeples, Jayce Teeples, Jimmy Marsh, and Ruben Delgado.
