Gene Thomas Burgreen

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, with visitation before the services from 12:30 to 3:30.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Burgreen was born April 13, 1936, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Thomas and Vetus Elledge Burgreen.

He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed being outdoors, working on the farm, and riding through the fields. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his coffee buddies and supper club friends. He had served in the National Guard.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Patricia Burgreen.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff and wife, Tammy and Jason and wife, Kristy all of Madison; two sisters, Linda Haney and husband Louis of Athens; Dewanda Black of Madison; and two grandchildren, Blake Burgreen and Avery Burgreen

Pallbearers will be Johnny Atkinson, Lindsey Burgreen, Danny Cole, Stan Menefee, Marcus Romine, and Glen Sides.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Baker, Don Bowers, Powell Cole, Clifton Poole, and Rickey Downs.
