Charles Larry Greer

He was born on July 1, 1944 in Texas to Willis Brown Greer and Alberta Marie Greer.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Beau Barron.

Mr. Greer is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Murray Greer, one son Gary Wright II of Arab, AL, one daughter Kimberly Sheppard (Paul) of Tuscumbia, AL, one brother William B. Greer (Sue) of Pueblo, CO, one grandson Zac Sledge (Anna) of Cherokee, AL and two great-grandchildren Logan Sledge and Taylor Anne Sledge both of Cherokee, AL.

Charles Greer graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Physics. He worked with the Navy in Maryland designing and building tanks. He worked as a senior systems analyst with an aerospace company in Huntsville until retirement. Charles built his own racecar and competed for a number of years.

He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid reader.

A private memorial for immediate family is planned. McConnell Funeral Home in Athens is directing.
