Robert "Bob" Dyer Briggs

Robert Briggs Robert Dyer Briggs of Atascadero, Calif., passed away on February 7, 2015. He was born in Los Angeles in June, 1931. Bob Briggs graduated from Brea Olinda High in Brea, California. He also attended Fullerton College, Chaffey College and numerous other colleges and universities in connection with job related, specialized law enforcement program training courses and seminars. He received many departmental and state commendations and certificates for various statewide achievements and recognitions throughout his 38 year career with the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Bob was married to Lorna Dean (nee) Lee on March 1, 1950. He was a member of CSEA and the Lions Club. He enjoyed football, baseball camping, boating and spending time with family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lorna Briggs; son, Carl Briggs; daughter, Laura Talbot; grandchildren, Steve Miller, Justin Terrazas, Dylan Richard Thomas Briggs, and Zacary Miller; and his brothers, Carl Richard Briggs and Garrett H. Briggs. A Memorial Service will be held on February 20, 2015 at 2:00pm at Chapel of the Roses, 3450 El Camino Real Atascadero, Calif.
