Raymond “Ray” Gunderson, 84, passed peacefully on February 26th with family members by his side. Ray was a generous man who always had a smile and an offer to go to lunch or have a Diet Coke with him. Ray was a brilliantly gifted inventor who always had a plan to build his next gadget or machine. Ray worked for the Alaska Railroad, the U.S. Navy (Korea), and worked in other various locations related to the Power Generation. Ray and his wife Aloma “Sue” loved the Central Coast area best of all. She passed in 2008 after 47 years of marriage. Ray is survived by their four children, Rodney, Norma, Raymond and Aloma as well as by their eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Roses located at 3450 El Camino Real, in Atascadero, CA. A graveside service and celebration of life gathering will follow. Friends of Ray are welcome to attend.
