As a young child, the family moved to Los Angeles along with her older sisters; Sandra and Carol.
Following the completion of high school, Millie married and started her own family. moving to Morro Bay before settling down in Templeton.
In Templeton, she raised 5 children and became a pillar of the small town; focusing on raising and supporting the town youth. Millie was an active member of the Templeton Womens' Club and a founding member of the THS Athletic Booster Club. She could always be found on a field or gym supporting her kids no matter how far the contest was from Templeton. For many years, she was employed as an Operations Officer/Teller at Atascadero BofA and Santa Lucia National Bank. She also worked as a waitress at Peppertree restaurant in Atascadero where she met her favorite customer, Albert Moore.
Albert and Millie were married and continued to reside in Templeton until his passing in 2009. Millie then moved to Paso Robles Quail Run Estates where she resided for the past 15 years. While at Quail Run Estates she organized pickle ball games, played tons of BINGO, and a was frequent winner of costume/decorating contests. She loved playing the lottery, slot machines, and watching baseball, especially her DODGERS. Her favorite color was green and rooted for any team "wearing her color". Millie was quick-witted, tech-savvy, and loved being active. She kept QVC and Amazon in business and these companies will struggle without her.
She is survived by her children; Rex James (edna), Gary James (Susan), Randy James, Phil James (Amy), and Leann James. Grandchildren; Rex Jr., Anthony, Lester, Jason, Stephanie, Kyle, Jordan, Phillip, Tyler, and Macey. She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Helen Byrum, sisters Sandra Miknaitis and Carol Penix and husband Albert Moore. Millie's final resting place will be the Templeton District Cemetery, with the family planning a Celebration of Life on her birthday in August.
