She graduated from San Luis Obispo High School. In December 1949, she married the greatest love of her life, Gene Pimentel, and was married 67 years before he passed away in 2016.
Marge was actively involved with the community, a caring volunteer, a loyal friend for life to those who knew her well. She was an Elk/Elkette and was the Elk of the Year in 2006-2007. She loved bowling, cooking, camping, and being with the grandkids on their mini ranch. She loved to camp in the Eastern Sierra’s to enjoy fishing, relaxing with friends and family. She, along with her late husband, traveled to Mexico and across to Florida in their RV, took cruises to Alaska, Panama Canal, and the Caribbean. She told stories of her family moving around with her Father, who worked with the railroad when she was a child, living in railroad cars right on the beach stops. She was a Master of Arts with her crafts with the Elkettes, she even worked with stained glass and painted portraits/landscapes that currently adorns our homes.
Marge lived an amazing and extraordinary life and celebrated her 90th birthday this past October. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a Pioneer of California, homemaker, cheerleader at her daughters sporting events, a friend to many and the ultimate Dodger fan. She was able to see the Dodgers win the World Series again.
She will be greatly missed by her three daughters: Kaye Bruns, Karen Campbell (Chris) and Kristin Pimentel. She is also survived by her four wonderful grandchildren: Jonathan Bruns (Astrid), Keri Winget (Sean), Nick Campbell (Valerie), and Travis Campbell (Danielle), and her two great-grandchildren, Macy, and Malcom Campbell. Her sister, Melva Avila, is the only remaining sibling of 5 children born to Frank and Nellie.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband Gene Anthony Pimentel and her parents.
No services will be held at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Atascadero Elks Lodge in her name.
