Mike was born February 28,1947 to Lazaro and Elida Estrada.
He grew up in San Luis Obispo and graduated from San Luis Obispo High school in 1965. In 1971 he met the love of his life, Cleo Marroquin and married a year later on January 8, 1972.
He was excited to celebrate his upcoming 50th anniversary. They then moved to Arroyo Grande. In 1987 they purchased their forever home in Templeton.
Mike worked for PG&E at the Morro Bay Power Plant for 43 years before retiring.
Mike was a devoted and hard working man, always wanting to provide a better life for his family.
When he wasn’t working, he was hunting, fishing, BBQing or you could catch him riding around the ranch on his tractor. He also enjoyed going to watch his great nephews and nieces at their sporting events.
He loved his wife, daughters, granddaughter and the recent addition of his great grandson.
Mike is survived by his wife Cleo,
2 daughters, Cheri (Steve) Dooley and Julieanna Estrada, Granddaughter Ashley (Courtney)Dooley, Great grandson Wyatt, his Brother Wayne (Cindy)Estrada and his beloved aunt Bobbie from Hawaii.
His other love was for his Boxer dogs, Benny & Waylon.
Mike is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ray (Beatrice) Marroquin, Jesse (Maria) Marroquin, Julian Jr(Charlene) Marroquin, Norma (Fernando) Loera, Fella (Luis) Gutierrez, and Aurora(Juan) Acosta.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and other family members.
Mike was proceeded in death by his father Lazaro, mother Elida, brother Joe Hernandez, sister Dolores. His in-laws, Julian & Maria Marroquin, Pedro Ruiz, Concepcion Marroquin, Lynda Mayo, and Janie Marroquin-Lopez and many other family members.
Mike will forever live in our hearts and be missed dearly by many.
Viewing will be Monday August 30 at the Chapel of the Roses from 5 to 8 pm.
