Donna was born on October 16th, 1951 to William Clayton McKean and Mary Patricia McKean in Paso Robles Ca. She grew up in Templeton with her two brothers, Clayton and Raymond McKean, and graduated from Templeton High School.
She married Everett Scantlin in 1973 and they had two sons. Raising her boys and being “Mom” to many of their friends brought her great joy. Donna loved watching her kids play baseball, football, and compete in the rodeo arena. When she wasn’t working or cheering on her boys, she loved spending a little downtime at her family’s property in Priest Valley or traveling to Colorado to spend time with her aunt.
Later, she was blessed with grandchildren who brought her the greatest joy and happiness of all. Anytime she ran into a friend, she always had a story or pictures to share. Seeing one of her grandchildren put a glow and a smile on her face quicker than anything else. She was proud of her family and was proud to take on her role as Grandma.
Donna was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a grandmother, she took pride in being good at all her titles. She will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband of almost 51 years, Everett Scantlin, her son, Deke (Dusti) Scantlin of Coalinga, their children, Chance, Shelbi, Justin, Destiny, Gavin, and Justice. Her son Rick (Kelly) Scantlin of San Miguel, their children, Kooper and Clayton. As well as her two brothers, Clayton McKean of Templeton and Raymond McKean of Carson City, along with a large and loving extended family.
A graveside service will be held at the Mennonite Cemetery in Willow Creek, on Saturday, April 5th at 10am. A celebration of life and lunch will follow at SkyRose Ranch.
