Joseph Ranieri, a lifelong resident of Astoria, Queens died Tuesday March 7th after being hit by a car trying to cross a Brooklyn Street. Joseph's tragic death happened days before he was to be honored for 40 years of meritorious service working for Empire Merchants and he will be sorely missed by friends, family and the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church community where he served as an usher at Sunday services.
Predeceased by his parents Dominick and Grace, and brothers Salvatore, Joseph Ranieri was 70 years old and is survived by his brother Don, niece Patricia and nephew Nicholas. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held Monday March 13th 10AM at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church 43-19 30th Avenue Astoria, NY 11103 followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Woodside Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
