He grew up in Coronach, SK, attending Coronach School, leaving it to pursue his career in farming! He farmed with his brother, Reinhard, cousin Alvin and good friend Bill McPeek in the “BAR” Machinery Co-op. He enjoyed farming, raising pigs and cattle, but decided he’d better get out of farming while he still had his “shorts”!! He enjoyed playing baseball and hockey, playing on the Coronach/Fife Lake Combines team. He also worked during the winters on the oil rigs in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Bill was a charter member of the Coronach Kinsmen and was involved with the organization of the first Telemiracle. In 1985, Bill went to work full time at the Prairie Coal Mine as a dragline oiler/operator until he was forced to retire due to health issues. After his lung cancer surgery, Bill had 12 good years!! He loved RVing, caravanning, sight-seeing---travelling throughout Canada, United States and Mexico---meeting many new friends. One of his favorite passions was the orphanage in Mexico where he had a soft spot for the kids there----and they loved him too! Bill’s pastime was polishing his vehicles inside and out, tinkering in his garage and working on his 40’s Co-op tractor; an accomplishment of which he was quite proud. Bill loved playing practical jokes and stirring the pot----for those of you who hoped to get even---well---he won!! Bill was very proud of his three sons and his only granddaughter, Zoe---his “peanut”, he was really pleased and proud of what a beautiful young lady she’d become and would often say “What happened to my little peanut?? She’s all grown up.” Bill was a loving husband, caring father, proud grandfather and a great brother!! He will be missed!!
